The Short Bus

By: Jonathan Mooney

For our first reading, our group read to page 67. This book is told by the author and he includes a lot of personal stories and experiences from his lifetime. Jonathan was a special education student when he was younger and now he serves as a role model to children with special needs. Through the journey he takes on the short bus, it gives the reader an insight to the life of an individual with special needs. I really enjoy this book so far because it shows the importance of having people who are willing to work with special needs children and the need for understandment and compassion. While Jonathan did not have such in his life, he is able to provide it to others and the impact he has made in their lives is much more than what can be written in words. I am excited to see where the rest of this book leads because so far it is really good.
